Somewhere around here I saw a link to a Dynalo amp that was around $250. There wasn't much information about it around the forums but on the webpage it said Gilmore had listened to it and liked it. Does anyone have the link to this?

Thanks, that's exactly what I was looking for. I was talking about the part that said
Quote:
Dr. Gilmore himself have listened to the original version and like the result a lot.
Thanks a ton man!

Well I just CBF and I'm pretty sure the busy man doesn't have time to reply .

But let's have a good assessment of the situation. It's $280. I don't care if Mr Gilmore has heard it or not. It's a dynalo designed at being the cheapest dynalo without sacrificing too much on what exactly makes this amp design great. "essence of DynaLo without the huge price tag" as in the sales blurb to me means, "Hey this will sound awesome for the price but don't expect it to sound like a $1000+ amp!" So yeah, it's largely irrelevant. If it were $500 or $600, then I'd be changing my point of view. I'd be wanting some reviews before taking the plung over the highly praised Headamp Gilmore Lite.

[As for the original version, they probably tweaked it before release, like every other company]

Its part of one of my office systems now.

Its very hard to compete with the labor costs associated with
building something like that outside the US.

Well Kevin has given it the approval, who else has had a try at the amp?

I'm very interested to hear about it's sound sig - cold? neutral? warm? are the highs exaggerated or rolled off etc and how well it pairs with Grado/Allesandro.

Sorta. The Gilmore Lite is a dynalo which was designed by Kevin Gilmore. This is also a dynalo. To suggest it is a scaled down GLite is a bit misleading.
