Phil LaRocco justed post some update on his latest project - the PortaCode, which is a battery powered, transportable version of the famed HeadCode.
From what Phil said, the PortaCode shouldn't be too far away. I believe this is going to be one of the best, top-of-the-line solid state amp available to mankind, regardless of cost. May be it is time to save up

More information here :-
PortaCode Preliminary Introduction
From PPA to Pocket Reference II, to Lisa III XP to HeadCode, I think Phil is one of the most talented headphone amp designer on this planet. Just wonder what kind of sonic level will the PortaCode bring ?

Music aside, it is the discovery part that make head-fi self-fulfilling. One step at a time.

But it's not going to be a low budget stuff... like 300-400, right?

Wow, I was completely unaware of this fact; and I retract my sly remark on the Diablo's current status above.

The only thing I dislike about his designs is the damn bass boost control, get rid of it and I'm all over it.
