Hey guys,

Heading over to http://www.mellowparenting.demon.co....er/usbdac.html i find that the schematic and board are no longer up there, which makes it hard to figure out exactly what i want to do with my Alien DAC. Anyone got the files by any chance for those?

Thanks,
Rob.

Would be really great,

Thank you.

Have you noticed that you replied to a really old thread?? This design has long been replaced with newer versions of the PCM2702 dac, such as the alien dac and bantam dac. I'm not even sure if Guzzler is still checking the forums!

Every now and again ;)

Unfortunately I lost all my files from back then (probably 2004 for the PCM2702) in a computer failure, so I don't have it anymore. Also my USB-S/PDIF board got lost then. No matter, they're very easy to design. The PCM2702 doesn't have audio in, so you'll have to go for something like the PCM2902 and design one from there.

Yep - Guzzler sent me a very nice e-mail or PM awhile back complimenting cetoole and myself.  He really started something with the Guzzler, because both the Alien and Bantam DACs trace their roots all the way back to the Guzzler.  Dsavitsk also gives him a nod in his many articles on DIY-ing and designing DACs:

(It's pretty cool reading - kind of tells you even the best designers out there start somewhere!)
