I like your comments abou the HD600s...while looking at your avatar! Hahaha. Ah, but I have 600s myself and just really love them. To me, it's a really nice combination of sound and fit. I really like the Grado sound as well, but they don't fit my odd-shaped head the same way.

Enjoy. (oops...too late!)

I just really liked the pictures that a fellow head-fier took (sorry I forgot who!!). And I have Grado SR-60's. They were my first decent pair of headphones, so I'll always have a thing for Grados (ooh), it was just time to try a new sound. And I really like it.

wait wait . . . how is this possible? You like senns? But .. they're like . . . unlistenable and people who enjoy them are usually crazy!! Crazy I says!!!!

Glad you liked the sound, senns are pretty good if you're into em. Got me 650 right now, and it's doing okay. I do miss my old sr-325s though . . . one day.

I put random stuff and/or equipment in my sig, so all the signature elitists should go find something else to make themselves not feel like pathetic losers.

What % of increase in SQ do you think comes when adding an amp to the setup. For the sake of convienience.. lets say the amp is a Gilmore Lite v2.

Well, that's really subjective.

You'll definitely hear improved dynamics and soundstage. Maybe 20%?

You pretty much get 10% of the remaining 20% of the HD600's potential.
Speaker Setup:

Headphone Setup (version 2):
SqueezeBox 3 -> PS Audio DLIII DAC -> Cary Audio SLP-05 Tube Headphone Amp -> ???? (coming soon!)

I know you're only trying to help the OP, but you cannot definitively say that. As far as I know, you've only tried the HD650 on two HeadAmp offerings (Lite, GS-1). So you're saying the GS-1 makes the HD600/650 as good as it can be? I highly doubt that. Have you heard the Senns balanced? It almost becomes a completely different headphone. There are also many other variables to take into consideration that will affect the resulting sound. Source? Cables, especially headphone upgrade cables? Power? In my experience the HD600 will respond and change when any of these are upgraded.
