Folks, I'm creating this LF thread to discuss the current LF and possible future incarnations of it.   Many of you have written privately saying how highly you regard the LF. Some of you have decided that it's the best headphone amp around and have stopped looking for another amp. Some of you have not quite gotten happy with its looks. Many of you have commented in the regular LF thread.   In this thread I'll be telling you why the LF looks like it does and where it might go next as Rev 2 takes shape. Folks, the new Liquid Glass amplifier will be available for delivery at the end of October.   The Liquid Glass is a hybrid amp at the opposite end of the tube-rolling spectrum from the Liquid Fire. The LF does not facilitate tube rolling (although owners still do it. :) ). The LG, OTOH, is designed to maximize tube rolling.   The internal design of the LG gives you the exact sound of whatever tube you are using as though the tube is running stand alone, with no load.   Some of the LG features are:   1. Will work with octals that have 6SN7 basing and novals that have 12AU7 basing. 2. Front end self adjusts to the tube in use. 3. The SS buffer will provide about 6W into 50R. 4.   While my opinions when it comes to headphone amplifiers is well known, there is no denying the fact that Dr. Cavalli has put out a cracker of an amplifier in his newest and first commercial offering, the Liquid Fire. Especially given that I have heard all of his designs in the last 5 years and have built 80% of his DIY designs, to say the Liquid Fire is the best headphone amplifier that I have heard thus far is an understatement. .    I will also be the first to admit that there are other amplifiers out there that out do the LF in certain areas, but the LF is one of those very rare amplifiers (The Cavalli Audio Stacker and the Balancing Act with some crazy rare tubes are the other ones that I found superlative) that bring it... » read more
